A man comes across a frozen reindeer without a head. A woman spends hours cooking for her pet pigs. Two men sitting among icebergs invoke the presence of Brigitte Bardot and dream of nude white women. Children are playing a game of Nintendo in the middle of a forest. A total of twelve brief moments, nowhere in particular, but in each case, far from the cities, have been recorded on film by Director Nikolaus Geyrhalter, during each one of the months in the year 2000. Result: a dozen episodes, 20 minutes each - four hours of life, pure and simple, in the 21st century.
